Principal's Message

dannyStella Maris Catholic Primary School, Shellharbour was founded by the Sisters of Charity in 1958 and is a part of the Diocese of Wollongong. We are a welcoming school that has a proud history and tradition of service to the local community. The school is an integral part of the Catholic Parish of All Saints and we work closely with our Parish Priests Father Bryan and Father Stephen. Our school has a strong link with the parish and the responsibility of education is actively shared with our parents who are closely involved in the life of the school.  We also have strong links to our sister school, Nazareth Shellharbour City.

Our school vision - “Reverence the Story of all People” guides us in everything we do. All members of our school community are unconditionally accepted for who they are and are appreciative of each other, so that everyone is understood with respect and reverence. We aim to develop in our students an awareness of their worth and potential. We also look for opportunities to develop student leadership skills as we all share in the responsibility of helping make Stella Maris a great school.

Learning is given the highest priority as we strive to foster the potential of each person. We focus on empowering children to learn as they challenge, discover and explore their world in a positive and supportive environment.  As educators we believe that all students can achieve improved learning outcomes and we actively collaborate to support this goal.  Apart from implementing outstanding programs in Religious Education, literacy and numeracy, there is also a strong focus on effectively using technology to enhance learning including our 1:1 student iPad program in Years 5 and 6.

We look forward to welcoming you and showing you around. If you are interested in seeking enrolment for your child, please contact the school office.
